After the foul conditons on the Grafham Gander run, the weather gods were in better mood for the Shuttleworth Shuffle. A fresh but clear day greeted us at Moggerhanger village hall. Twenty signed on with the sun warming everyone up, also the tea, coffee, and smokey bacon sandwiches helped. 11 o’clock came and the riders all got away. Only Alex’s petulent Norman was giving trouble: clutch trouble, leading to an early retirement. The Norman was promptly sent to ‘the naughty step’, ie: the trailer. All arrived at the pub stop, even Bev on his uninspiring, non-expiring Honda Express! Our own David Bailey busily set about rolling around the car park doing a photo-shoot of David’s Suzuki X1 50, capturing all angles of said machine. Andrew arrived slightly confused by the route only to realise he started the run on the return leg! All returned unscathed for more tea and cakes at the hall. A great day’s weather and good company made for a really enjoyable event.
Thanks to everyone attending, thanks to Matthew Cox and Chris Saunders for their help.
Cheers,
Ralph.
