A Chinese-built version of the VéloSoleX.
Another
Victoria cyclemotor—this one is complete.
A fan-cooled Puch
moped … an MS50V? …
something like that …
That looks like a Little Honda behind it; let’s work our way along this row
of machines.
Yes, just as we
thought it’s a Honda P50.
The next machine in
the line is a Mini-Motor.
But, again, the machine behind it attracts our attention. What can
that green shape be?
It was worth moving a few machines to
get a good look at it - it’s a Miele moped.
Behind the Miele is a Mosquito
cyclemotor.
Here’s our fourth Cyclaid of the
day; this one is on a Humber bicycle.
The cyclemotors are packed quite
tightly together in his part of the shed, so it may be difficult to get a
good look at them. Never mind, we’ll do our best. This one is
an ABG VAP4.
A ‘racing’
Mini-Motor with a megaphone exhaust!
It’s difficult
to see down there but the fuel tank gives it away - this is a Vincent
Firefly.
This Cairns Mocyc is a bit easier to
have a look at. The cycle it’s fitted to is a Rudge.
A Ducati
Cucciolo. That’s enough here - let’s go back where there’s a bit more
room to move.
One of Kelven’s ‘specials’, this
is a Gomier tricycle that he’s fitted an engine to. It goes quite wel
... but the wheels start to complain if you attempt any enthusiastic
cornering.
Another ‘special’, this Moped taxi has a glass-fibre
body and the power unit from a Honda scooter. The bicycle wheels and
the minimal braking mean that it’s best not to run the engine at anything
faster than a tick-over. Obviously, it’s not meant for serious use -
Kelven uses it in Carnivals.
We’re well into our third page of New Zealand photos
and we haven’t been anywhere other than Kelven’s shed yet. We really
must tear ourselves away and visit some other places. But, before we
go, let’s finish off with this BSA Beagle.
We’re off to Wellington
